As we all know 80% of our body is liquid, so water plays an important role. Clean water is even more important, it helps reduce diseases for people and animals.
The Clean Water System Program is implemented all year round; we would like to thank you for your contribution.
EOCRO has delivered many clean water systems with 3 categories as follows:
Clean water for a family costs about $130 USD or $160 CAD and is built in mountainous villages, sparsely populated areas, where we often choose families with sick, isolated, elderly people, persons with a disability and families with many children. The water system is built into the family's land and is used by only one family.

Clean water for more than 1 family cost about $175 USD or $220 CAD and is built in the rivers and canals of Ca Mau, with many families living in the area. Although surrounded by water, the water source is polluted and can only be used for washing and watering crops. If used as drinking water you will get sick, even bathing and washing your face should be avoided. When looking at the water’s surface of the rivers and canals, you will see all the garbage and grease. People have to move to this place to live because living conditions are very poor and miserable in the lowlands, where there is limited opportunity. They decided to leave the lowlands and use the reclaimed land for family farming.
When we chose a central location to build a water pump, we suggested that families around that location jointly use one pump between two families because the people are scattered and equally poor. Before the use of an electric pump, it was very difficult to get water, people had to row a boat to access the pump. They are now using an electric power pump that delivers water through pipes straight into their house, it is a miracle that has made a big change in the lives of these families.

- The work of finding geysers in old mountainous areas with very hard rocks is a big obstacle for drillers.
- Drilling through rocks the size of a house requires an air drill. The workers have invested over 1 billion VND ( USD 40.000) to buy a whole drilling rig and transport vehicle and the price of a water well on the market is 50,000,000 VND ( USD 2100 )
- We have order more than 5 drills at a time when it is very costly and you have kindly given a charity price of 30,500,000 VND ( USD 1200 ) each for the water well.
Experiencing the need to have a source of water brought to the village and the cheers of the villagers when the workers found the water source made the workers moved. In difficult areas, the workers have been happily accompanying the young volunteers of the EOCRO, because they really see the importance of CLEAN WATER SYSTEMS (CWS) for people’s lives.
The plan for the last 26 Clean Water wells in Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province have been completed.
This is the CWS project that EOCRO has long wanted and cherished because here people live on the riverbed so there are many large stone block houses, don’t have source of water for daily activities.
The location to drill CWS changed many times because a water source could not be found, so the rig had to be moved to many places in the area and the workers worked very hard.
Every time workers bring the rig to a village, the whole village is happy and are curious to see if the water source has been found. If you haven't found the spring, the villagers are worried. When finding the source of water the whole village pulled out to sing and dance to celebrate making the workers also moved.
This is a remote mountainous place where people’s main income comes from going to the forest to pick vegetables, break bamboo shoots, catching fish and hunting wild animals, which is a self-sufficient source. From time to time, some people from city who stop by and sell essentials such as fish sauce, soya sauce, sugar, cooking oil, etc, therefore the price would be double compare to city price.
Further in the mountains there are villages without roads and without electricity. Where villagers often go to the stream to bathe, wash and carry water home for daily activities. There are some who put water pipes on the stream but the water flow is very weak.
The water source is not hygienic for drinking, in the rainy season, the water is cloudy, in the dry season, and the water is not enough for living.
Inauguration day was very happy. Villagers shouted for joy and our hearts was very happy, they thanked the contributors for giving them water, from now on they have access to clean water and do not have to go far to collect water.
