Tashi Lhunpo Monastery is seat to the Panchen Lama, the second most important spiritual leader of Tibet. In 1447 the Monastery was founded by His Holiness the First Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Gendun Drup, in Shigatse, Tibet's second largest city. It is one of the four great monasteries of Central Tibet and was supervised and looked after by the Dalai Lamas and Panchen Lamas. It has the glory of producing thousands of renowned scholars in the field of Mahayana Buddhist Philosophy as per ancient Indian Buddhist Universities such as Nalanda and Vikramalashila.. Tu viện Tashi Lhunpo là nơi ở của Panchen Lama, nhà lãnh đạo tinh thần quan trọng thứ hai của Tây Tạng. Năm 1447, Tu viện được thành lập bởi Đức Đạt Lai Lạt Ma đầu tiên, Gyalwa Gendun Drup, tại Shigatse, thành phố lớn thứ hai của Tây Tạng. Đây là một trong bốn tu viện lớn của miền Trung Tây Tạng và được Đạt Lai Lạt Ma và Panchen Lamas giám sát và chăm sóc. Tu viện có niềm vinh dự là vì đó là nơi đã sinh ra hàng ngàn học giả nổi tiếng trong lĩnh vực Triết học Phật giáo Đại thừa theo các trường đại học Phật giáo Ấn Độ cổ đại như Nalanda và Vikramalashila. Sera Mey Tsangpa Khangtsen Monastery is located deep in the mountains of India, the terrain is difficult to navigate, and is far from the city. The internet connection here is very weak so it is difficult to communicate with people outside the Monastery. Monks practice diligently.
The simple life of the Sangha is also known as poor-quanlity.
